Fort Worth Tea Party | Contact Local Media

We are asking everyone to contact the local media to strongly encourage them to cover the Fort Worth Tea Party. Here are some guidelines to help you:

TELEVISION:

Take the time on Monday and Tuesday and contact each of the local television stations and:
- Ask for the Assignments Editor!
- Let them know thousands will be gathering at La Grave Field from 6-8pm
- This is a grassroots movement across the country of people who are frustrated over the direction of our country
- This is an important news event and that as viewers we expect them to cover it
- It's about limited government, fiscal responsibility, the rule of law, and national sovereignty.
- This will be a very friendly atmosphere.

DAY OF:
- Call again at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM and ask for the Assignments Editor - NOT THE NEWS TIP HOTLINE!
- Again let them know that the event is at La Grave Field in Fort Worth and runs from 6-9pm.
- This is an important news event and Governor Rick Perry will be at the event!
- This is a grassroots movement across the country of people who are frustrated over the direction of our country
- It's about limited government, fiscal responsibility, the rule of law, and national sovereignty.
- This will be a very friendly atmosphere.

TIPS:
- Call early into the program, the first few phone calls could set the agenda for the entire day!
..be polite, and to the point, say you are calling to talk about the tax day tea party
...know the subject and what you are going to say BEFORE calling in
(what does the host [use his/her name] think about the whole tea party thing)
(does the host [use his/her name] think this is a shot in the dark, one time thing or has legs)
(I am fed up with the whole drive towards socialism, this is my first time getting involved)
(this isn't what I expected when I heard give Obama a chance, all this spending, that's why yourg going)
(I'm going because there is more spending under Obma than there was with G Washington to G W combined)
...if the hosts ask you a questions, and you don't know, say "you know I don't know, what do you think" back
...be prepared to hold through breaks, be patient. TURN OFF YOUR RADIO!!!
...engage the host, make him/her the star.
